If you are considering buying a laptop you should know all your options before making the purchase. Being in the computer field I hear a lot of stories of people having serious problems with their laptop. For example, when a criminal sees you with a laptop, you're an open target for a robbery. The next thing to consider is laptops are constantly breaking down and cost a fortune to fix. They are next to impossible to upgrade and with technology constantly changing you want to be able to upgrade your computer as things change. Many sales people at electronic and computer stores know this, but they will never reveal it.
Buying a brand name desk top computer such as Dell or Hewlett Packard (HP) may not solve the problem either. These computers are also hard to upgrade and very expensive to fix. The manufactures use the cheapest possible computer components they can get there hands on. This is why they're so cheap in price. The software programs that are preloaded on these computers are nearly useless and nothing but spy ware.
The best way to buy a computer is to get a custom made one. A custom made computer is hand made by a professional computer technician. Always insist on an Antec computer case and Antec power supply rated 500 watts or over. I recommend an ADM 64 bit Athlon quad core processor and at least 2 gigabit of PC6400 - DDR2 800 random access memory (RAM). The motherboard should be a MSI or Asus brand. Seagate is the best hard drive for the money and should be at least 500 gigabytes in size and SATA 2 with a 32 mb cache. These computer components are close to being the best in the world and are very reasonable in price. The cost of a system of this quality is about $700 and $100 for me to put it together and load an operating system. You can't buy a brand name computer of this quality, because they don't make them.
If your into heavy gaming I can install a designated video card of your choice, otherwise the motherboard will have an integrated video card with 256 megabits of video memory.
